Central Texas Education Funders Introduces Dewey 370
What is Dewey 370?
Dewey 370 is an online tool – curated by CTEF – that allows local funders and education experts to share high quality resources, effective models and latest research across multiple categories guiding funding decisions.
We've named this knowledge base Dewey 370, a library of ideas for what to do about issues in education.
With this tool, funders, staff and collaborative organizations can work together on strategic questions and learn more about the success of programs supporting Texas students.

Why is this tool important?
We know that rapid population growth and high student mobility rates alongside increasing racial, ethnic and economic diversity among students and persistent disparities in educational outcomes challenge Texas's school communities. A knowledge gap between these trends and the projects we fund can undermine both our efficacy as Central Texas Education Funders and our ability to support more impactful grantee program implementation.
We want to promote well-informed funding decisions and improve our ongoing support of grantees working to improve educational outcomes for Texas students by facilitating the collaboration and regular sharing of local opportunities and up-to-date resources, including high quality data, contextual and programmatic research, best practices and other practitioner insights from the field.
Using Dewey 370 will allow you to:
- find relevant content and answers to questions beyond your own expertise through the expertise of your colleagues,
- connect with your colleagues to better understand the entire ecosystem of solutions offered in a particular domain,
- facilitate more consistent communication among funders and promote collaboration to maximize the impact of local funding decisions, and
- identify opportunities to work together to maximize the effects of future funding.
