In 2007, a handful of education funders began meeting informally to learn more about current education issues and collaborative funding opportunities. In early 2008, the Central Texas Education Funders (CTEF) was officially formed, and today, this membership organization is comprised of over 50 funding agencies that focus on education in Central Texas as one of their grantmaking priorities.
The mission of the Central Texas Education Funders is to improve the effectiveness of the education sector by providing opportunities for collaborative learning, funding, and advocacy among central Texas education funders. Because of CTEF, grantmakers can make more informed and coordinated
decisions about funding opportunities and the ways in which they can
foster change in the community, both individually and
collaboratively. As a result of this collaboration:
- effective programs are sustained and expanded;
- duplicative services are reduced or eliminated;
- innovations addressing unmet needs are encouraged;
- grantmaking and evaluation processes are more efficient and transparent.
Although
all CTEF members have their own unique missions, we believe we can
collaborate to optimize the impact in our community. For more information about CTEF, or to become a member, please contact us.
